Centering Prayer

What is it?
Centering Prayer is a type of meditation with ancient roots in the Christian tradition.  It is a deep form of communion with the Divine.  Contemplative Outreach has an excellent website with information about this practice.

Who Is our Leader?
Wendy Johnston is a longtime practitioner of Centering Prayer and a trained presenter through Contemplative Outreach.  She has worked closely with Cynthia Bourgeault through Northeast Wisdom.  Wendy will be coming to us from Stonington, Maine.

Where and When?
We will meet in the Common Room at St. James Church in Keene on Saturday, October 14 from 9-3:30.

Participants should arrive at 9 a.m. to sign in and get settled.  Teaching will begin at 9:30.  Lunch will be provided with vegan and gluten-free options.  Coffee and tea will be available throughout the day.  We will end at 3:30.  Parking is available behind the church (GPS use “Gilbo Ave, East Lot, Keene, NH”). Be sure to park in the main area of the lot, rather than the edges, where meters cost $0.25 for 50 minutes (instead of only 20 minutes)

What do I need to do to take part?
Please provide us with your name and phone number.  This contact information will help us in the unlikely event of any unexpected changes.

There is a $20 registration fee and scholarships are available.  Please make checks payable to St. James Church and mail them to:
