Learn, Deepen, Connect, Grow
You are invited to join us for the Social Justice 40 Day Bible Challenge. Forward Movement has compiled 40 days of short Bible readings focused on Social Justice. Each day the book includes a Bible passage, a reflection by clergy and lay leaders from across the country, questions to consider how this passage connects with your life and a prayer. A sample from the book is here.
Each participant will read the book on their own during this 40 day challenge, but we will kick off the bible study and conclude it with a potluck gathering at the rectory at 5pm on Sunday November 2 and Sunday, December 14 if you can make it.
Scripture challenges are not academic Bible studies, but rather are presented as a way to help you intentionally engage with scripture every day. This helps you discover God’s wisdom and create a lifelong spiritual practice of daily Bible reading, which deepens your relationship with God and your faith.
We will be ordering the books at a discounted price of $12 each. If that is a hardship for you, there will be copies in the office you can borrow. The bible challenge books, produced by Forward Movement Press, have a similar format to the Forward Day By Day booklets. Although the passages are a bit longer each day, the readings provide more depth of content. Please contact Deb DeCicco to sign up or ask questions.
