The Rev. Elsa H. Worth

Elsa grew up in the Congregational church, was ordained first as a Unitarian Universalist minister in 1996, and then finally found her home as an Episcopal priest in 2007. She came to St. James in 2016 after serving Episcopal parishes in CT. During her transition between denominations, she was the chaplain at Wentworth Douglass Hospital in Dover, NH for four years. She is a graduate of Andover Newton Theological School, the NH Institute for Therapeutic Arts and Sarah Lawrence College.

Elsa loves to share her passion for prayer, discernment, Scripture and seeking God’s wholeness. Her current passions are sketching and printmaking, dancing, hiking and learning Swedish. She has mothered three children, and lives in Keene with her husband Steve and their really weird cat, Olive.

Derek Scalia, Deacon

Derek currently serves as the chairperson of the diocesan Michah 6 Commission and works alongside the people of St. James Episcopal Church in Keene. He is also connected with Episcopal Migration Ministries seeking to support refugees and asylum seekers and is active with the Monadnock Interfaith Clergy group through Monadnock Interfaith Project.

Derek is passionate about faith formation, social justice, and the work of peace. Through his secular work he serves as the Senior Director of the Student Success Center at Franklin Pierce University. He is married to his wife Alison and they have two wonderful kids, Natalie and Daniel.
