Support, Fellowship, Food and Fun
Once a month, September through May, St. James offers the caregiver’s lunch to those with loved ones who need a lot of care. Those who have come in the past have been caregivers of loved ones with dementia, but any caregiver is welcome. Lunch is provided in the Jonathan Daniels Room, and caregivers meet in the study to eat together quietly and offer support to one another. If their loved ones come along with them, they stay out in the Jonathan Daniels room with our friendly volunteers. Sometimes there’s a sing-along or a vintage tv episode or some kind of puzzle or game, but mostly it’s just good company and a nice day out.
If you are feeling the stresses of caregiving, you are most welcome to join us, with or without your loved one. Caregiver’s lunches take place on the 3rd Sunday of each month from September through May. Let us know you’re coming by contacting Dick Drew.
